2017/18 SOMBA High Performance Winterball Program

The SOMBA high performance winterball program is a 17 week program starting the first week of November that is developed around the Baseball Canada Long Term Athlete Development model. It is designed to introduce our top athletes to age and developmental specific strength and conditioning, position specific fielding skills, and professional hitting instruction. The goal of this program is to develop our elite athletes in such a way that they are able to compete at the highest level against the top baseball programs in the province. This program is not for the casual baseball player. This program is for athletes who eat, sleep and breathe baseball, who are aged 11 and up, who played at the AA level or higher last season.

The weekly schedule for this program is as follows:
Friday 6PM-8PM Community Centre Gymnasium – Hitting
Sunday 4PM-6PM Adidas Sportsplex – Fielding
Tuesday 3:45PM-4:30PM Beach City Crossfit – Strength and conditioning
Thursday 3:45PM-4:30PM Beach City Crossfit – Strength and conditioning

There is also some self directed strength and conditioning required Monday and Wednesday that will be done at home.

The high performance winterball program is intense and is designed to prepare these highly motivated athletes for spring training and the upcoming 2018 baseball season.

In order to have an optimal player/coach ratio registration is limited to 20 and is based on a first come first served basis. To avoid disappointment please register early as this program will be full.

If this program is not for you, then SOMBA will also be offering our regular winterball program at the community centre once a week as well.

Please register one player at a time.
