Re: COVID – 19 UPDATES

Effective immediately Baseball BC has suspended all sanctioned in person baseball activity for a period of 7 days.

Baseball BC sanctioned activities include but are not limited to, all tournaments, practices, games, coach and umpire education and team building activities. The intent of thissuspension is to limit situations of physical contact.

We urge all member organizations and affiliates to enforce and support the suspension of in person baseball activities in their respective associations as well.

The information the public is receiving surrounding the pandemic is fluid, and being updated hourly.

Baseball BC and its member organizations pride itself on providing a safe haven for our youth to enjoy the outdoors and learn the sport of baseball.

As a community, we will need to relax our expectations on how we hope the next few weeks will play out and adopt a proactive role in contributing to a solution. By limiting our gatherings and outings we hope to limit the transmission rate and afford the public health bodies more time to organize, study, and work towards a solution.

Baseball BC will review advice from health and senior sport organizations over the next 7 days.  Across these 7 days, we will monitor the situation in hopes that baseball activities will resume as soon as it’s safe to do so.  We will issue another notice by March 20.
