Hello All,

 Hopefully we are through the deep freeze from a couple weeks ago and can look forward to more seasonal weather showing up in the next couple of weeks! Winter ball is in full swing with throwing programs ramping up and training intensifying. The temperature issue at the soccerplex has been resolved so it is a much more comfortable climate especially during the early morning sessions.

 Registration has been open for a few weeks now and our numbers look great so far! Thank you for your continued support! The coaching binders that Josh Snider created are now available on the website and are a great source of information for coaches going into the spring season setting up practice plans and drill stations. The coach application is also accessible for anybody volunteering this year to coach. NCCP certification for coaches is something we encourage for all of our coaches, and require at certain levels. Please reach out to myself or Josh Snider for more information and steps to take to become certified. This is a great time to begin that process before we get into spring ball. Recruitment for umpires is also underway so once again, please reach out if you are interested in training to become an umpire and earn a little extra cash!

 As of now we are still under the same restrictions and guidelines that we have been all winter. The first week of March there will be an update from the Provincial Health Officials and I will pass along that information along with any news regarding decisions from BaseballBC, ViaSport and BC Minor Ball.

 We will be launching our new merchandise program this spring which will feature some great SOMBA attire. The link will be on the website as soon as we finalize a few more details. Thank you all again for complying with our COVID protocols during winter ball! Since our back to play last summer everybody in our league has done an outstanding job keeping our players safe and our programs running at full speed. This type of patience and perseverance will really help us get back on the field sooner than later. Registration is open until March 15th so spread the word!
