13U

The 13U Division offers opportunities for new and returning players of various skill levels to have fun and compete in a safe atmosphere with good sportsmanship. 13U has tiered level of play (A, AA, AAA). The 13U Division fields both Recreational (A) and High Performance (AA and/or AAA) teams to meet the needs of all players. High Performance teams will have tryouts and will require more travel and additional team fees.

Primary Field: Kiwanis Field at 470 Edmonton Avenue East Penticton, BC Kiwanis Park | City of Penticton

Equipment: batting helmet, baseball glove, bat, protective jock/jill, baseball pants, cleats (runners for indoor facilities)

PROGRAMS:

Winter training program: January – March (indoor facilities)

Spring Recreational Program (13U A): April – June (house league)

Spring High Performance Program (13U AA): April – June (Interior Interlock)

BC Minor Single Season High Performance Program (13U AAA): April – July/August

BC Minor Summer Program (13U A and/or 13U AA): June – July/August

Fall Recreational Program: September (13U A): September– mid-October (weather permitting)

Fall High Performance Program (13U AA and/or 13U AAA): September – mid-October (weather permitting)

Evaluations: Evaluations are used in the Recreational program in Spring (early April) and Fall (early September) to assist in balanced team selection.

Tryouts: Tryouts are used in the High Performance/BC Minor programs in Spring & Single Season (late March/early April), Summer (mid-late June) and Fall (early September) to select players with the skill level and commitment needed for these competitive levels of play.

Coaching: The 13U program relies primarily on Volunteer Coaching, with Contract Coaching available for the Winter Training Program. Please register to Head Coach or Assistant Coach if you are able.
