SOMBA is proud to announce the establishment of the Lorne Raymond Bursary for SOMBA players graduating from high school and going on to attend post-secondary education at an accredited institution. This Bursary is named in honor of Lorne Raymond, our Umpire-in-Chief who has served SOMBA for many years as a Coach, Board Member, and Umpire. The goal of the Bursary is to assist worthy student athletes in their pursuit of post-secondary education. Successful applicants will be SOMBA members in good standing who have demonstrated proficiency as a baseball player or umpire for three or more years and have a minimum 68% average in their grade 12 year. SOMBA will award up to two Bursaries annually in the amount of $500 each.  

The application deadline is June 30th in the year of graduation.
