SOMBA is proud to announce the establishment of the Lorne Raymond Bursary for SOMBA players graduating from high school and going on to attend post-secondary education at an accredited institution.  This scholarship is named in honor of Lorne Raymond, our umpire-in-chief who has served SOMBA for many years as a coach, board member, and umpire.  The goal of the scholarship is to assist worthy student/athletes in their pursuit of post-secondary education.   Successful applicants will be SOMBA members in good standing who have demonstrated proficiency as a baseball player or umpire for three or more years, and have a mimimum 68% average in their grade 12 year.  Bursaries will be awarded in the amount of $500.  

The application deadline is June 30th in the year of graduation.
